The temperature in the room shot up about twenty degrees as he started to speak. In a room full of people I didn’t notice anyone but him at that moment. Any time Alex Conrad was around I noticed no one but him. Jesus, the things I thought about doing to him. If anyone could read my mind right now I am sure I would be locked up.

“Conrad, Conrad,” the crowd shouted bringing another smile to his face.

The crowd hushed to a quiet roar as he spoke to them thanking them for trusting in him and electing him as their new senator.

“Thank you, Thank you. I don’t know what else to say right now other than I will not let you down. I am grateful for everyone that helped get me where I am tonight. I want to thank my parents, though they are only with me in spirit, their values have made me the man I am. Thank you Mom and Dad,” he said and looked up at the ceiling and blew a kiss.  The crowd started cheering again.
