Blind Speed Dating RULES!!!! and Info!

(Remember! For Twitter Trash Talk use #AgentTTT)

Agent's RULES:

Blind speed dating is the 20th-23rd. Friday the 24th will be used to announce winners, undercover names... Each day will run from NOON (EST) - MIDNIGHT (EST).

Agents will receive a total of 10 arrows. BUT not all at once. They do not have to use all of their arrows.

They start with 4 arrows on Monday. Then receive 2 more arrows each day after that (2 on Tuesday, 2 on Wednesday, and 2 on Thursday). Totaling 10.

Each partial request is worth 1 arrow. (Each entry can only have 2 partial requests!)

Each full request is worth 3 arrows. (Using a full steals any partials made on that entry. They may trump their own partial, too)

Here's the thing... *evil laughing* Fulls CANNOT be made until the last day, Thursday! And partials go up in cost on Wednesday to 2 arrows!

*Agents can leave any comment. But when using arrows they must say something like "Struck with Honorary Cupid so and so's arrow(s)!" AND the # of arrows being used. (1-3)

**Material agents want to see but do not win will be available one week after the first agent(s) receive the material.**

INFO:

1. Remember this event is dedicated to Helping Hearts for Britta

2. Entries are only open for agent's comments. The public can comment when it's over.

3. There is an all day Q&A on the blog with the agents on Tuesday. Some of the agent's will stop by to answer questions as they can.

4. The agents are now officially undercover. Here are their undercover names:

  1. Question! So if an entry has two partial requests and full request is made, the partials are trumped in favor of the full?

    ReplyDelete
  2. Yes, the agent who made the full gets it exclusively for 1 week. Then the agents who used partials get it, too.

  3. Hey Cupid, any chance of posting a simple list of the entry #s with book title and genre so we don't have to click on each separate one to see info?
Only if it's not too much trouble...!!??

  4. I like the idea of blind dating because it is very interesting to date someone whom you do not know.Blind date is a good concept.

  5. Thanks again for an amazing contest, Cupid!

  6. Love this concept. And may I say, it works!

I met my hubby of 38 years on a blind date, LOL.

  7. I am completely lost. So, if an entry gets partial requests on Monday - do they send to that agent on Monday? Or, is it just killing time until Thursday to see who gets a full request and then that is sent on on Thursday with no partials having been sent before? This is like the IRS code.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Do not send in anything until after arrangements have been made on Friday! Thanks!

If you receive a partial from one or two agents, after the contest you'll send it in to those agents. If you get a full you'll send it in to that agent after the contest. If you get both the full agent gets it for one week first. Then you send in the partial(s) after that one week.

  8. What's the protocol for the entries from here that are in the hunt but are also duplicated over at Miss Snark's Secret Agent that is decided today who the winners are? I mean, that kind of pushes any exclusivity out the window right?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Hi Carrie,

The exclusivity period is for the agents in this contest only, nothing else is effected.

    2. Thanks DMcWild! You are right.

  9. If a full request is made that trumps the partial/s, do the trumped arrows revert back to their rightful owners to be reused, or are they simply discarded upon the plains of Guilder?

(because, you know, you could start a war that way.)

    1. ooh, good question. recyclable arrows. yikes

      Delete
    2. I'd like to know the answer to this as well... It seems a little unfair for them not to be able to reuse their arrows if they get trumped, esp. when there are so many amazing entries!

      Delete
    3. They do not get to reuse their arrows! This is about strategy, too.

  10. I'm hoping that whoever is Lit Agent Ryan Gosling starts all comments with "hey, girl."

    That is all.

    Good luck all!!

    ReplyDelete
  11. So the most arrows an entry can have is 3 - but what if other agents are interested in that one too?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. There can be two partials and then a full on the last day. I'm sure if agents are interested in your entry they will make sure they get a hold of it one way or the other. :)

  12. The Mock Turtle is still my favorite name. LOL. Good luck to everyone! This is such an awesome opportunity. Cupid, your rock!

  13. Honorary Cupid Plum Charming's Arrow sounds like a race horse. =)

  14. Great contest Cupid! This is a fun way to connect with agents. :) I was hoping to send to some of these people anyway. Fingers crossed they are the ones who have requested partials already.

  15. Okay, I feel like a numbskull here, but how did people submit to be in the contest? I'd live to participate in a future event.

  16. You're so awesome! I have the same question Ellie does. So how are writers participating?
