"Come And Get It!" Contest Info!!!!!

You've all been waiting so patiently for more contest fun, and the time has finally arrived.

I'm running behind on my schedule, so I'm gonna get right to the important points and try not to be too silly...

CONTEST: (Twitter: #CAGI)

Each entry includes the meat of the query and first 250 words. And must be accompanied by $4 donation. (Please read more on formatting and donation below.)

I am accepting 100 entries total. All of the entries will be open for public comment/critique. There will be 10 judges. Each will be assigned 10 entries, which they will critique in the comments section. When they are finished, they will choose their top 4 choices from their 10 entries to move into the agent round. So there will be a total of 40 entries from the 100 that make it into the "Come And Get It" agent round. (I wish it could be more, but it's just too hard on the agents to read more entries than that.)

Genres:

MG, YA, NA, Women's, Romance, Historical, Thrillers, Commercial, Literary, Memoir

Giveaway:

All of the 100 entries will be automatically entered into our giveaway party! Your entry number on the blog will be the number you'll use in the giveaway. The giveaway will include some great stuff from our judges so stay posted for more info on that!

The 40 entries that make it into the agent round will be reposted and any of the participating agents can come and request off any they'd like to see more of!

Contest Agent List:

Email entries to CupidsLitConnection@yahoo.com

AUCTION:

So while the agents are going to "Come And Get It" in the contest, the writers get to "Come And Get It" during the auction. The auction part will have several agents (some from contest, some not) auctioning off different things to the un-agented writer with the highest bid. Each agent auction will have its own separate post and the bidding will take place in the comments section of that specific post. Each auction will start at a minimum of $10 and bids will be placed in increments of $2. So if the first bid is $10 then the next will be $12, and the next $14 and so on. The auction will open on the 10th and close on the 14th.

Everything sounds pretty crazy and fun, right? It's gonna be awesome!!!!

All the funds donated to "Come And Get It" will be used for book donations made to the children's units here at my local hospital. Due to being anonymous, I cannot reveal the name, so you'll just have to trust me. :)

The $4 donation must be made using the donation button in the right hand column on the blog. PLEASE DO NOT FORGET THIS PART! I will take the entries as first come first served through each email window up to 50, plus 10 alternates. So AFTER you have received your confirmation email IMMEDIATELY go to the donate button and donate $4! Make sure you use the SAME NAME on both email and donation!!! I will not add your entry to the contest unless your name is on the donate list. If I do not have your donation in a promptly manner, I will move onto an alternate!

FORMATTING: VERY IMPORTANT!!!!!!!

You guys know how much I enforce my formatting guidelines. These aren't to pick on you, torture you, or even to make it easier to read through. This is so that I don't pull quite as much hair out when I am moving the entries onto the blog. Cuz you know, when you do 100 entries....THAT'S ALOT!!!

PLEASE READ AND FOLLOW ALL OF THESE GUIDELINES!!!!

When you submit your entry please make it very simple:

No tabs or double spacing. I want it email style. Single spaced. One space between paragraphs. No tabs!

Just the meat of your material. No "Dear so and so". Or "I chose you because..." Just the meat of the query and first 250. You may add your SIMPLE credentials at the END of your query.

Your entry will be like this: (Yes, bold where bolded)

Title: NAME OF YOUR BOOK (Yes, CAPS there!!!)
Genre: Genre of your book
Word Count: Word count of your book

Query:

Your query formatted correctly. (per above guidelines)

First 250:

Your first 250 formatted correctly. (per above guidelines)

*Look at past entries for further example.*

SUBJECT of your email should be: TITLE - Your Name

THANK YOU!!!!! for following these specific guidelines. Makes me a happy little Cupid.

Whew! Let me know if I missed anything!

(Email entries to CupidsLitConnection@yahoo.com and PLEASE FOLLOW ALL DIRECTIONS GIVEN HERE!)

    1. I'd say yes. Take a peak at the agents wish lists on their sites. Especially if it's para rom.
